The Main Drag: This section of the blog is intended to provide random entertainment. Sometimes there will be posts updating the audience on my progress of coming back into running, funny posts, sometimes there will be posts that have contests about embarrassing moments, new recipes, team camp ideas, etc. (I encourage you to participate- the more stories the better), inspirational posts, posts about career advice, boys, and much more. Many times there will be posts regarding nutrition and female health; however, since these are such large topics to cover, any additional (and more in depth) explanations and examples will be be provided under the NUTRITION & GIRL TALK Pages on the right hand side of the blog. Please use these pages as references and comment if you have any more information on them!
What Everyone Must Know as an Athlete: This page is crucial- it emphasizes how vital it is to understand that every person is different and that what works for you may not work for another person and vice versa.Use this and other information to learn/educate yourself and then create a running style that works best for you.
Girl Talk: This page is completely dedicated to providing information regarding menstrual cycles, birth control, the female athlete triad, weight struggles, and the emotional stress that goes along with these aspects. These subjects need to be discussed because I feel like a lot of times they are tip toed around and therefore, many girls are not educated about these important elements and end up experiencing irregular periods, poor nutrition habits, or fear of being alone. This is a place to educate yourself on how to balance training, maintaining regular cycles, and proper eating habits and why it is important for not only the present but also for your future as a woman.
Nutrition: This page reveals the impact and significance of superfoods specific to increasing a runner's performance and health. The main emphasis of this section is that FOOD=POWER. It also provides general information and explanation as to why restricting or eliminating any one food group is illogical for a runner.
Fortitude Stories: Please post your own story, struggle,
or journey of fortitude. This is essential for others because it can
fuel inspiration for others to press forward and not feel alone.
